Hartlepoolfhs.org.uk for Prepaid Credit Cards explained.
Welcome to www.hartlepoolfhs.org.uk, the site for Prepaid Card information. Here we look at what Prepaid Cards and then focus on some Prepaid Card providers. When choosing a provider, it is a really good idea to compare their service with other providers before committing yourself.
A Prepaid Card – What is it?
Prepaid cards are growing in popularity and ever more people are choosing these as a useful way to pay. Basically, they are a ‘pay as you go’ card, where you load funds on and away you go! They function exactly as a debit or credit card with the same features – chip and PIN, name strip, conjunction with MasterCard or Visa and long card number. But the money you spend with the card is the money you have loaded on – you cannot borrow or go into an overdraft with this card. This is why it is useful, as you are always in control of your money. Once the funds have been spent it is up to you to reload the card. A prepaid credit card allows you to pay online and in a wide range of retailers and restaurants thanks to the MasterCard or Visa logo.
Cashplus Prepaid Card
Cashplus offer the prepaid Gold MasterCard. Secured by Verisign this prepaid card has even won awards. There are no credit checks and acceptance is 100%. You can use it at home and abroad and you can use it to shop online, by telephone or in any store. You can top up the card in any Post Office branch and at other locations for free. A great feature here is the ability to upgrade your card with creditbuilder – so your credit score can be improved. This service is at no extra cost. Check the terms on this however as there may be extras involved – you will be lent a year’s worth of monthly fees in advance and yet are still subject to the cashplus monthly fee….it sounds rather confusing so make sure you are clear on the facts before signing up.
One Banking Prepaid Bank Account
This is a slightly different offer – One Banking offers a banking facility and a prepaid card. A bonus here is that there are no credit checks so this option is for everyone. Each account received an account handler so you can benefit from money management assistance. There are other perks to this account/prepaid card combination: you will not be subject to purchase fees, UK ATM fees or top up fees. You can even earn interest on your billing account with One Banking. Watch out for the ‘application fee’ though – at £30 it’s quite steep and there is also a monthly fee of £12.50.
